I was inspired to paint this scene while having dinner at a spot right by this dock on Lake Champlain in a little town of Westport, New York. The boats were all secured and gently bobbing after a day on the water. There is something soothing about the sound of the gentle rocking sounds of the boats in late Summer afternoon. Plus, I enjoyed the way the lighting of the beautiful blue of the sky and the wisping clouds reflected in the water with their shadowy reflections.
I used Gamblin Oil paint on archival 12″x 12″ “The Edge” canvas and varnished with Gamvar. It is framed in a black floating frame and pre-wired and ready for you to hang it as soon as you receive it!
