Winter Birch Trail

This painting was inspired by one of my Winter snowshoe hikes to Wright Peak. That is one of the 46 High Peaks in the Adirondacks. All are 4000 ft. elevation or higher. Each trail has a special character or personality that just adds to the beauty and memory of each one. I absolutely love birch trees and this area along the trail was just an incredible group of them. I loved how the color of the peeling bark was popping against the snowy white of the snow all around. The shadows cast were so blue and purple hues. There was something warm and cool about all the colors in this scene.

I painted using Gamblin Oil paints on archival Fredrix canvas and varnished with Gamvar. It is framed in a black floating frame. The painting is pre-wired and ready to be hung as soon as you receive it.
