Fields of Lavender

This is one of my favorite spots to paint in the Adirondacks. I plein air paint (painting outside) in many places, but there is something about being in a field of lavender on a warm summer day. I wish I could share the fragrant air as I painted this scene. The colors of lavender are not just “purple” or “violet”, but there are many pinks and whites as well. The purple of these rows just stood out and I wanted to capture the beauty of these glorious flowers.

I painted using Gamblin Oil paints on archival panel and is varnished with Gamvar. It is framed in a 3″ wide Black frame. The painting is pre-wired and ready to be hung as soon as you receive it.
