Winter Trail Marker

The Adirondacks are filled with trail markers throughout the mountains in all seasons. While snow shoeing, I came upon this tree that seemed to be dusted by the latest storm obscuring part of the trail sign. The rough bark caught the snow into little crevasses and gave the trail sign a little snowy wig, highlighting it. You can’t miss it. I thought it had personality, and I wanted to capture the weathered sign looking a little brighter with the softness of the snow all around it.

I painted this painting using Gamblin Oil paint on Fredrix Archival Canvas and varnished with Gamvar. The frame is a Gold Floating Frame. It is pre-wired and ready to hang as soon as you receive it!
